Woodring Apartments - Bronze Louisiana Certified Habitat

ree

Congratulations Woodring Apartments in Lake Charles on their Bronze

Certification. Todd Riché and HRI Communities are striving to incorporate native

plants in their new properties that are going up in South Louisiana. Woodring was

the first of more to come, and features natives and nativars mixed with other

nonnative landscape plants. The variety of trees including Red Maple, Live Oak,

Bald Cypress, American Elm, Eggleston Holly, American Holly, and Sweetbay

Magnolia is notable. They also incorporated a bioswale and permeable sidewalks

to help with drainage in an area where that can be an issue.

Congratulations to Woodring, and we hope that this helps to start a trend of native

plants being incorporated into residential complexes!
