Over the past 20 years, Susan's one-acre property along Bayou Teche in a traditional Iberia Parish subdivision has transformed from a landscape of conventional nursery planting into a garden that blends traditional ornamentals with native species. Susan's goal has been to create a beautiful, sustainable space that supports pollinators and local wildlife while increasing biodiversity throughout the landscape. She has established habitat for bees, butterflies, and other beneficial insects making the garden more enjoyable and increasing activity in her kitchen garden, which ultimately contributes to a more productive harvest.
