Valerie Nehrbass-Vidrine is the essential node in ANPP's administration of the Louisiana Certified Habitat program. When an application comes in, she adds it to the database and gets it to the visit team. Valerie is a lifelong environmental enthusiast and native plant advocate, whose passion for wild landscapes is rooted deeply in her upbringing. A former middle school science teacher, she grew up exploring the swamp behind her grandmother’s home and the marshes of Vermilion Parish— experiences that shaped her deep appreciation for native ecosystems. Valerie became an Acadiana Master Naturalist and joined ANPP in 2018, where she continues to support community-based conservation. Passionate about connecting people with place, she now serves as the spreadsheet keeper for the Louisiana Certified Habitat program, helping track and celebrate native plantings
across the region. Valerie loves spending time outdoors with her husband and son, fostering a shared love for the natural world.
