NATIVE PLANT ADVOCATE: In Memorium: Penelope "Nel" Bliss Delpy

According to her sister Anushka, Nel was a nature lover, to put it mildly. She was also passionate about Maria Montessori's approach to education. She even went back to teaching last September, at the age of 73. She flew back to Saipan and filled in for one of her co-teachers for half a year. Nel loved the Master Naturalist class and loved volunteering with ANPP at the Arnaudville greenhouse. Her daughters and sister went to Hawaii recently to celebrate her life at some of the amazing sites on the Big Island. Below is a short video of the places they went to say good-bye. Nel died on August 6, 2026 of a condition nobody knew she had, least of all herself, pericardial effusion. We will miss her dearly.
