Melanie Manuel Vidrine - Bronze Louisiana Certified Habitat

ANPP congratulates Melanie Manuel Vidrine for her bronze-certified habitat in Port Barre in

St. Landry Parish. Melanie started a small native bed at her family camp a couple of years

ago with pass-alongs from friends, seeds, and plants from ANPP. Native gardens sleep the

first year, creep the second, and Melanie's did indeed leap in its third season. Her bed is

filled with pollinator favorites like beebalm, mountain mint, and several coneflowers.

Beautyberry, Louisiana irises, yarrow, white and yellow wild indigos, and obedient plant are

among the others. This garden receives a roof full of downpours, and they don't mind.

Melanie also has volunteer swamp red maple and sweetgum seedlings near mature cypress

trees at their dock.

Thanks for Greauxing Native, Melanie!
