Featured Native Plant Advocate - Heather Warner-Finley

Dona Weifenbach

Congratulations and welcome to Heather Warner-Finley, an original ANPP founding member and our new president!

As a member since ANPP's inception, Heather helped to steer us from a small group of native plant enthusiasts and ecologists with a mission to educate and inform the public of the value of native plants, to a well organized, vocal and productive group demonstrating that message through a variety of avenues. Heather's background as a fisheries biologist with Louisiana Department of Wildlife gave her a first hand understanding of Louisiana's coastal habitat and the problems it faced. Upon retirement, she channeled her knowledge and energy into several non-profit organizations, Trees of Acadiana, Bayou Vermilion Preservation Association, and Master Gardeners of Lafayette. She was well suited to apply her skills to ANPP and we have flourished under her guidance. Her experience working with boards and volunteers fits perfectly with our organization. Heather has defined goals for her term as president and I look forward to her leadership. -Dona Weifenbach
