Dave Patton: Gold Louisiana Certified Habitat

Congratulations to Dave Patton for achieving a Gold Level Certified Habitat status on his lot in the Saints Streets. Two years ago, he lost two large oaks and began adding interesting plants he encountered at ANPP Propagation work days and in his travels throughout the state. Dave, who is also an avid observer of insects and birds, is now creating a new native refuge in his city neighborhood. He says, “It has been fun figuring out which plants were happiest where and learning which ones work in a small garden situation. It is amazing to me that so many different pollinators have shown up in a downtown Lafayette garden.”
