Taylor and Lauren Hargrave - Gold Level Louisiana Certified Habitat - Rayne

ANPP congratulates Taylor and Lauren Hargrave of Rayne in Vermilion Parish for

their gold certified habitat! If we had a platinum level certification, they would

surely qualify.

Taylor and Lauren started their habitat garden plans when they bought this nearly

3-acre property a few years ago. Now that their house is built, they have

landscaped with natives and favorite non-natives, added prairie sections and

vegetated their low drainage ditches. They have cleared a woodland along one

property edge of invasive tallow trees and Chinese privet while adding to its tree,

shrub and vine diversity. They participated in ANPPs Yard to Habitat workshop

last year, which helped them finalize their plans. They sourced plants and seeds

from the UL Ecology Center, ANPP, Cajun Native Plants and others.
