Elise Latimer - Gold Level Louisiana Certified Habitat - Lafayette

Congratulations to Elise Latimer for a beautiful gold certified garden. Bendel Gardens is a traditional subdivision. Though Elise has always been interested in native habitats, inspired by her mother, when she and her family first moved into the neighborhood landscaping consisted of plants readily acquired from nearby nurseries, several hand-me-down plants from family members, and plants that evoked Elise's childhood. More recently, as she's changed out plants or reworked areas in the yard she has focused more on supporting bees, butterflies, hummingbirds and other birds. She has acquired plantsfrom good friends, ANPP sales and elsewhere. Today, the yard remains a combination of native and non-native plants with native plants taking precedent!
