W.P. "Judge" and Elizabeth Edwards - GOLD Level Louisiana Certified Habitat - Abbeville

ANPP congratulates W.P. "Judge" and Elizabeth Edwards for a certified gold habitat in Abbeville!

Their home site is almost three acres in the town of Abbeville, just two blocks from downtown. It is an unusual piece of property, as about a third of it lies in a drainage corridor. The part of the property that drains into a coulee is only a block away from the Vermilion River. The area has tall, mature native trees planted by several owners since the late 1890s. There are plantings around the house that include many native plant species. There are also plants and trees imported by the USDA in the early 1900s. The current owners are committed to aiding bird life, butterflies, moths, and other wildlife by continually increasing the diversity of native plants into the existing landscape.

Thank you Judge and Elizabeth for Greauxing Native.
