Patti Eaton - Bronze Level Louisiana Certified Habitat - Lafayette

ANPP congratulates Patti Eaton of Lafayette for her Bronze certified habitat!

Patti and her husband's property is 6 acres in the South side of Lafayette at the

end of a gravel road. They and their son's family live in two homesteads on either

side of a one-acre pond that is home to wood ducks and other waterfowl. Patti

has been adding native wildflowers to their beautiful landscaping, like native

blanketflowers, milkweeds, and black-eyed susans. Louisiana irises line a long

fence. They have a significant number of native trees like red maple, bald and

pond cypress, fringe tree, and 55 white oaks her husband grew from acorns

collected from their property in Toledo Bend. They also have goats, sheep,

horses, and a cow, which together provide plenty of manure she uses for organic

fertilizer.

Keep up the great work, and thanks for greauxing native, Patti!
