The journey started several years ago, driven by a desire to provide a haven for pollinators and local fauna amid an increasingly managed agricultural landscape.

The space was carefully designed to balance structure with natural freedom, using gravel baths, stepping stones, and cozy wooden decking to navigate a rich tapestry of textures. Intricate, colorful foliage adds dramatic color contrast, while a gentle water feature serves as a literal oasis, inviting frogs, dragonflies, and birds to drink and bathe.

According to Melanie, one of the most rewarding observations has been the sudden explosion of wildlife: watching native bees feast on the flowering shrubs and seeing butterflies flutter through the garden beds makes every hour of the day exciting.
