David and Kirstin Hebert - Bronze Level Louisiana Certified Habitat - Lafayette

ANPP congratulates David and Kirstin Hebert of the Saints Streets area of

Lafayette for their bronze certified native garden!

After 13 years in this house and the loss of a huge magnolia tree, David

discovered native plants while in the Acadiana Master Naturalists Program. As

a professional photographer, he was first drawn to nature the through

photographing birds, and now his protective has shifted. "I realize that to support

the birds I love, I needed to provide a native foundation they depend on." Since

then they have put in new beds to reduce lawn and plan to expand them further.

This is the first year in the Sleep Creep Leap progression, and the plants they

have added this spring are thriving.

Keep up the great work, David and Kirstin, and thanks for greauxing native!
