ANPP congratulates Cindy DuBose and Mike Dever for a certified silver habitat in Sulphur!

Cindy and Mike got serious about native gardening around five years ago, and their native plant beds have been expanding and growing ever since. The four-acre property is a mix of wild forested land, traditional beds full of natives, and potted plants. The soil at their place can be tricky, being full of clay and prone to holding water, but they are working with it, showing what can be done if you just let native plants work with the land where they belong. The gardens include various Rudbeckia species, ferns, passion vines full of fritillaries, cardinal flowers, Liatris spicata, Hibiscus, Irises, and much more. The woodlands bordering the yard hold green milkweed they’ve flagged for seed collection.
