Brian and his family reside in rural Vermilion Parish. Their property acreage has open prairie, woodland, and wetland with a coulee that cuts across some of the property with a bridge connecting the two areas. Brian has the perfect area since the property has all the diversity for naturalization. Brian decided to preserve as much of the natural state of the land, not cutting down trees but planting new native species. The woodland has several species of Oak, Sycamore, Hickory, Pecan, Willow, Ash, and Hackberry. The wildlife is flourishing! He has added housing for the wood ducks and bluebirds, planting native flora suitable to each area for pollinators. Since doing so, Brian has noticed butterflies, insects, and other pollinators which he has never before seen in the area! Brian intends to continue adding native plants in the different areas of the property to attract more pollinators.
